Alright, random question for everyone now that Mother Nature is no longer trying to drown all of us with vigor.

[Kirikou is on Olivine's beach as he sends this out onto the network, a Houndoom and a Growlithe flopped over him. Hell yes to being on the beach again.]

If you had types like Pokemon, what would you be?

It's just something that randomly occurred to me while I was waiting out the rain. Me and my friend Maka have already talked about it for ourselves and the people we know.

I figured I was psychic-fighting. Back home, I'd what you'd call the heavy hitter of my team. This relates sorta to my fighting thing, but also to why I'm psychic type or at least I'd say so. See, back home, if you have the right soul and the right know-how, you can resonate your soul with someone else and it makes you stronger. Most people can only do it with one person if the circumstances are right, but there are people with flexible souls who can resonate with anybody and I'm basically one of those types. I can even do it with multiple people- basically one in a billion sort of thing.

[That's a blind estimate. He's just simply never heard of such a thing happening to his extent besides him.]

So.... Yeah, what's your type or what you think it'd be, and why? Let's get some conversation going up here.

Interesting, very interesting... I don't know much about the types here since I haven't... been here very long. Though from initial observation... possibly some form of Steel type. I'm not usually one for direct combat... though I can if I must.

But this... soul resonance thing... is it common where you're from?

Cool! The Gym-leader here in Olivine focuses on steel types, so it's funny you'd choose that.

As for soul resonance... Well, I wouldn't really say it's common, but there's enough people who can do it that a school has been set up to teach regular humans how to control it and stuff. Witches are capable of doing it as well- maybe other creatures but I don't know anything about that.

Well- the DWMA teaches both about how to deal with our souls, and how Demon Weapons, people who can transform into weapons, how to deal with their abilities.

Olivine... that's quite a ways from where I am now, I think... I'm nearing Violet City. But I was an... engineer at home, specializing in building whatever sort of structures the city wanted, so I thought it appropriate.

[He listens carefully. Strange, very strange. He doesn't really know much about the soul - Cloudbank didn't really have religion or anything of the sort, though the fact that consciousness could live outside the body had been proven.]

Really? What sort of weapons? Any sort?

[... Because he's just thinking of the Transistor and laughing internally.]

Yeah! [Kirikou gives a wide grin.] Most people can only become one particular kind of weapon.

Me? I've used gauntlets, handguns, and a sniper rifle myself. The gauntlets were my regular partners, Fire and Thunder. The three of us partnered up with the Thompson sisters, who were the guns.

When things were really going to hell- it's a long story- I got to partner with a death scythe named Azula. She's a sniper rifle, it was awesome.

But I know a friend named Tsubaki who could transform into a variety of ninja weapons like different swords, a giant shuriken, and smoke bombs. She's one helluva lady.

I'd think of myself as a Steel or a Fighting type, if I had to choose. But that's what my starter is, too.

I think sometimes that's how this place just is- some people get a starter that's really right for 'em, you know?

It makes me wonder if whatever brings us here can read minds, or see our souls, or whatever.

But I guess it's possible. I can't pretend that I understand what they can do with technology here. To me, though, I think it's more likely that certain types might just be... attracted to us.

That's a good question! I'm definitely at least part psychic-type, myself. Not only is my mind my most valuable asset but back home my magic probably would have fallen under the psychic umbrella too.

As for a second type... I'm not sure I have one, at least not yet.

But anyway, no need to rush about types, right? Being solo is good on its own too sometimes.

That's an interesting way to put it. I've heard of plenty of people who just plain don't have magic on their world, but it sounds to me like you're talking about something different.
