Alright, random question for everyone now that Mother Nature is no longer trying to drown all of us with vigor.

[Kirikou is on Olivine's beach as he sends this out onto the network, a Houndoom and a Growlithe flopped over him. Hell yes to being on the beach again.]

If you had types like Pokemon, what would you be?

It's just something that randomly occurred to me while I was waiting out the rain. Me and my friend Maka have already talked about it for ourselves and the people we know.

I figured I was psychic-fighting. Back home, I'd what you'd call the heavy hitter of my team. This relates sorta to my fighting thing, but also to why I'm psychic type or at least I'd say so. See, back home, if you have the right soul and the right know-how, you can resonate your soul with someone else and it makes you stronger. Most people can only do it with one person if the circumstances are right, but there are people with flexible souls who can resonate with anybody and I'm basically one of those types. I can even do it with multiple people- basically one in a billion sort of thing.

[That's a blind estimate. He's just simply never heard of such a thing happening to his extent besides him.]

So.... Yeah, what's your type or what you think it'd be, and why? Let's get some conversation going up here.

That's a good question! I'm definitely at least part psychic-type, myself. Not only is my mind my most valuable asset but back home my magic probably would have fallen under the psychic umbrella too.

As for a second type... I'm not sure I have one, at least not yet.

It's still weird to think about magic as a good thing like that sometimes...

But anyway, no need to rush about types, right? Being solo is good on its own too sometimes.

That's an interesting way to put it. I've heard of plenty of people who just plain don't have magic on their world, but it sounds to me like you're talking about something different.

Well- yeah. The only people who can do magic where I'm from are Witches and... I guess things are changing now, but we used to be fighting them for a loooong time. As far as any of us knew, their magic was purely destructive.

Oh. So you've only had to deal with what we'd call dark or chaos magic. In my world it's a lot more varied. We have spells for just about everything, from levitating objects to clearing the sky. Though usually we let the fliers take care of that last.

Huh. What would you call magic that heals people? I mean in your world.

Medical magic. I know, it's not the most interesting name in the world, but it's more a branch of study than an actual separate type. Also it's mostly experimental. You could really make things a lot worse if you tried to apply it without proper knowledge of the body.

Do you know much about it?

Not really, I'm afraid. It's not my area of expertise.

But I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you've run into something like that back on your world for the first time?

Not really the first time, but whenever I think about it- I realize I don't really know that much about it.

My friend and someone who's on the team I lead back home turned out to be a Witch- and this was a while ago- but she was basically the opposite in terms of what she could do.

I always figured when everything settled down, I could ask more about it, but, well, now I'm here. I'm her friend, and teamleader. I feel like it's something I should know about.

Oh. That must have been quite a shock to find out. But if her magic was a healing sort I'd imagine it to be pretty obvious that she wasn't like the Witches you'd faced so far... though a person can have dangerous, destructive powers and still be perfectly good.

Unfortunately, I probably can't help you much. The magic of my world and the magic of yours probably don't have much in common aside from the name. I have a firm grounding in the theory and use of my world's, but I know nothing about yours.

Not as shocking as watching a bunch of adults be freakin' useless in talking to her.

I guess you have a point. You'd want to talk to Maka more about that kind of thing. Still, thanks anyway. I still think I sorta.. at least got a better idea? Like that whole thing about knowing the body really well- didn't even occur to me. I just figured, y'know, it's magic so whatever. It's something that I know to ask Kim whenever I go back, or if she comes here.

Oh, you're from Maka's world! So when you mentioned resonating souls you were using her Death Academy sort of talk. Well that's a good reason for me to bring up the topic of magic with her again, we discussed it once but only briefly.

I don't know if she's mentioned me ever, but my name's Twilight Sparkle, and her and I are very similar in quite a lot of ways. I'm quite fond of her, though I think my friend Rainbow Dash is closer to her.

Ha- no, that's Kid, the Thompsons, Black*Star, and Tsubaki. But our teams worked together a lot. We're a pretty awesome combo.

[She makes a note of those names, repeating them with a mutter.]

I imagine so. But there must have been some very dangerous missions if they needed two teams on them.

Yeah. We're basically the best fighters in the DWMA one way or another- and if Maka tries to tell you she's not, tell her to shut up. She was a part of Spartoi just as much as me or Kid or anyone else.

She does seem like the kind to downplay her own accomplishments.

[Not that Twilight herself can talk.]

Yeah, it's really weird, I don't get it. It's like she has enough confidence in herself to kick my ass if I annoy her, but also... doesn't?

I don't even know. Maybe it's because she's on a team with Kid and Black*Star.

Is that a problem? I haven't heard anything about either of them.

Well, they're good teammates, but they've also always sorta been considered the top two strongest fighters- I'm #3 for the record. Kid's basically- well it's sorta hard to top the kid of Lord Death, and Black*Star is... Man, I don't know what's up with Black*Star. Too stupid to read all the glaring "normal human beings aren't supposed to do that" signs?

Either way, they're pretty ridiculous on a power scale.

I would be surprised that Death has a child in your world, but the concept of Chaos is manifested physically in mine, so I can't really talk.

I really don't get their family tree, but I guess it doesn't matter, right? Kid's pretty cool.

Aside from pure curiosity, no it really doesn't. As long as they get along well that's what matters.
