Alright, random question for everyone now that Mother Nature is no longer trying to drown all of us with vigor.

[Kirikou is on Olivine's beach as he sends this out onto the network, a Houndoom and a Growlithe flopped over him. Hell yes to being on the beach again.]

If you had types like Pokemon, what would you be?

It's just something that randomly occurred to me while I was waiting out the rain. Me and my friend Maka have already talked about it for ourselves and the people we know.

I figured I was psychic-fighting. Back home, I'd what you'd call the heavy hitter of my team. This relates sorta to my fighting thing, but also to why I'm psychic type or at least I'd say so. See, back home, if you have the right soul and the right know-how, you can resonate your soul with someone else and it makes you stronger. Most people can only do it with one person if the circumstances are right, but there are people with flexible souls who can resonate with anybody and I'm basically one of those types. I can even do it with multiple people- basically one in a billion sort of thing.

[That's a blind estimate. He's just simply never heard of such a thing happening to his extent besides him.]

So.... Yeah, what's your type or what you think it'd be, and why? Let's get some conversation going up here.

Olivine... that's quite a ways from where I am now, I think... I'm nearing Violet City. But I was an... engineer at home, specializing in building whatever sort of structures the city wanted, so I thought it appropriate.

[He listens carefully. Strange, very strange. He doesn't really know much about the soul - Cloudbank didn't really have religion or anything of the sort, though the fact that consciousness could live outside the body had been proven.]

Really? What sort of weapons? Any sort?

[... Because he's just thinking of the Transistor and laughing internally.]

Yeah! [Kirikou gives a wide grin.] Most people can only become one particular kind of weapon.

Me? I've used gauntlets, handguns, and a sniper rifle myself. The gauntlets were my regular partners, Fire and Thunder. The three of us partnered up with the Thompson sisters, who were the guns.

When things were really going to hell- it's a long story- I got to partner with a death scythe named Azula. She's a sniper rifle, it was awesome.

But I know a friend named Tsubaki who could transform into a variety of ninja weapons like different swords, a giant shuriken, and smoke bombs. She's one helluva lady.

... Hm. I've only ever used a sword, myself.

[And it only sort of counted as a sword anyway.]

Yeah? What kind of sword?

[He doesn't really think much of Royce looking nerdy. Ox looks HELLA nerdy, but he and Harvar still beat ass.]

Well it was... more sword-shaped. Used for... other things. To control something, and to use abilities gained from other people. The 'blade' itself was more of a... rectangle. I believe that's a... broadsword, perhaps?

Rectangle, huh? Broadsword probably is the closest you'd get.

How'd it use abilities like that?

I designed it to.

Why'd you design a sword?

It seemed like the... best option. It can be used as a sort of... 'brush', as well.

...I'm not sure brushes make for good swords.

Well... many attacks possible with it don't involve direct contact with the enemy.

...Does it set people on fire?

No, but it can swap the allegiance of an enemy temporarily, fire corrosive projectiles that dismantles targets from within, or siphon energy from targets around the user.

... To... name a few.

...Are you a chick? Because that sounds like some witch magic.

[... His expression remains mostly flat, though he does arch an eyebrow.]

No, I'm... quite male.

So you just made a sword that's actually a brush that can erode people from the inside. That's totally a normal thing to make.

Well, no. But... the thing it was made to control isn't exactly normal either. Or... at least, most people don't know about it.

How come?

Most people don't... take the time to see what allows the city to change so much. That's what the Process is.

Change the city- like architecture and all that?

Yes. That was... well. That was my job.

Yeah, you said.

So you made it to do your job better?

In a way. The Process was what I was using all along, I just... didn't realize it. And the Transistor - the 'sword' - was made to allow us to control it even more.

How can you control that sorta thing more? And- I guess why, since it sounds like you were doing pretty good before you figured things out.

It's... mm. We wanted to... cause more than just physical change. We wanted to change the city... to make the people change, as well.
